Transfer of characters is only going to give a level 20 char there. and not-so max weapons.

Another question, If I get my char from GW 1 and go to GW 2, and back to GW 1, will my char remain at an uber high level, and the higher damage weapons?

And Whoo! I have a friend, who WILL get GW 2. This will be awesome. (I personally don't want level cap raise, nor a max damage raise. but oh well.)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make max weapons drop often. I'd hate the WoW system in which you must grind your ass off to get max stuff.

"GW2 will 99% have a monthy fee, although the article doesn't state it."

Gaile said - NO FEES

I may be wrong on the placement in this particular thread, as I am reading about 3 forums right now, but perhaps you missed the part where Gaile stated that there will be PvP only toons with UaX available?

Also, one thing I don't see anyone really considering is that the increased level cap does not necessarily equate with grind. ANet has already done a great job of making sure that there is no item grind, yet there are those who choose to do whatever it takes to get what they consider the most leet skin. Increased levels could just as easily be like that leet skin.

Unfortunately, I'm not to thrilled about GW2...

When Guild wars first came out, it advertised itself as being a game based on skill and not on who has the best armor/equipment/level/etc...and from what I've gathered from previous posts...Guild Wars is going to turn into what it set out not to be originally...

I guess its too soon to say, but as of yet, I'm a little disappointed. Anyways, can't wait to see what the article has to say for myself.

It may be a little confusing with discussing both the expansion pack and the new game. The raising of the level cap will apply to Guild Wars 2, not to Eye of the North.

Show me where I said grinding, please. I enjoy playing in places like FoW, UW, and DoA. I don't do it so I can get items, I do it because I enjoy playing in those places. Items are just a bonus.

As someone said earlier, the level cap was nice because until level 20, you were developing your character. After that, you were, in a sense, developing yourself because GW was more about your personal skill, rather than your level/items/advantage over someone else.

I don't really care about character development because GW was not an MMORPG, that's not what it was about. If I cared about character development, I'd go play WoW or D&D.

Yeesh, think before you post!

1. "extended character development beyond lv. 20" does not mean level increase. It could be something as simple as a +damage title that only works in PvE.

2. I strongly doubt there will be character import from GW1 to GW2. Does it matter, really? You play GW1 PvE for fun and no reward, anyways. The reference of the GW:EN bridge between chapters just seems to be lore-wise.

3. I wouldn't say in absolute that GW has better graphics than WoW. GW has better enviroments, yes, but WoW is much, much more aestetically pleasing. I love hanging out in Stormwind or Silvermoon...Kaieng and Kamadan give me and my computer a headache.

4. The notion of GW2 World PvP makes me laugh. I gurantee that we hear ganking complaints within one hour of release.

It doesnt make sense to remove a level cap, then only have the higher levels for all show and no go.
Answer this then... What's the point of spending hours and hours to grind for FoW armor?

Why spend uberplat on that Fellblade?

it can be implemented in much the same way...

Everything sounds great to me. However I have a question. Would World PvP refer to being able to battle other players while running around in a PvE environment? I would also like to see a feature where you could stake money on duels or something like that.

I want to know what you can do in Guild Wars besides PvP and collect items?

It looks like with GW2 they are trying to add more depth to PvE. You still have your skill based PvP, but hopefully now PvE players will have more to do then run through UW collecting ectos... again.

What has GW2 with GW in common?

No monthly fee.

Besides THAT - it seem to be a *completely* different game. Frankly, it seems to be an Asia Grinder with near limitless level. That some playmodes have equal levels also suggests that other PvP modes put people at all levels versus each other.

I never liked the levelbased system.

It too much reminds me of that bored level 62 Tauren that jumped our party of 5 level 20 players. Did not take long for him to wipe us, relogging to our high level chars and taking revenge and well...

NO to this. Also, Asura as playable race... the odd white thingies. Argh.

It seems like GW2 becomes more like another Asia Grinder, in fact it reminds me much more of these than of WoW!

OK, you sorry PvP dudes... now my PvE char can SHOW you that your skillz cannot match my huge time and item investment! :>

Sounds like Grind Wars 2. This was sarcasm.

Yet... it COULD turn out to be Heaven. I just wonder how little it seems to have in common with the Guild Wars "all players are equal" formula we loved and defended and cherished. The "oh noes only 20 levelz!" people have won, it seems.

Perhaps you missed the part where she said half of PvP will be dependant on lvling. I do agree that Anet has done a superb job stopping grind in GW1 but i don't want them to make it REQUIRED part of GW2. I'm okay with it being for show but if you still dont have all the attrbute points after grinding 6 months to lvl 200 I'm gonna quit.

I read up to this point and had to say "Thank God!" GW2 looks awesome but if there were monthly fees...I would have to find a new game. No monthly fees is so FTW!

Lol, well I think its about time Inde opened us up a Eyes of the North speculation forum area...and Guild Wars 2. Because if he doesn't, Riverside is going to be filled to brim with GWEN and GW2 stuff lol.

All this information is interesting...I'm a bit dissapointed though about Level cap in PvE... I don't want to spend an eternity leveling my characters....

More info Gaile...please... I don't want GW2 PvE to be filled with Grinding!

It was also said elsewhere. I'm not sure if it was in this thread or another though. There's too many discussions going on at once to keep track, but someone with the magazine said it.
